How to write lowercase y in semi-joined handwriting
In semi-joined handwriting, y is written in one stroke. Start on the red dot and keep going without lifting your pencil.
Step by step
- Stroke 1: start at the middle line, on the left and go straight down.
y is a long ladder letter: start at the top and go straight down, then flick out.
In semi-joined writing most letters join to the next one; after b, f, g, j, p, q, s and y you leave a small gap instead.
