How to write the number 4 in print

In print handwriting, the number 4 is written with 2 strokes. Start on the red dot marked 1 and follow the numbers.

The letter shape comes from the Playwrite font; numbers show where each stroke starts.

  1. Stroke 1: start at the top line, in the middle and go down and to the left.
  2. Stroke 2: start at the middle line, on the right and go straight down.

This is the print (precursive) form taught in UK schools: separate letters with small exit flicks that make joining easier later.
